Core skills: Ruby on Rails, jQuery, Backbone.js, TDD, API integration.
Superpowers: I'm a full-stack dev and generalist (even did some design, see my ancient portfolio) and learn quickly so you can throw me at any part of the application. And I do all that while standing (standup desk).
I love the smell of freshly deployed software in the morning, Unix console, Vim (in Unix console), TDD with fast test suites.
I've been building web apps for US, UK and Canadian companies since 2007-ish, before that I tried everything, from design to DTP to black-hat SEO.
Career
There's lot of important problems to be solved: conflicts, poverty, environment, education, healthcare, building civil society. It's exciting that I can apply my web development skills to help tackling them. I'm proud to have worked with Loco2 and InputHealth.
Let me know if you have a startup that's doing something important! Even if we're not a good match now, I want to keep you on my radar.
Consulting
With productivity-focused Ruby Rails framework, Heroku, Trigger.io turning HTML5/JavaScript into native mobile apps you can submit to app stores - there's a pretty good chance I can build and launch your MVP quickly, without collaboration overhead. I follow common Rails practices and KISS to make it easy for other Rails developers to join or take-over the project.
